The trio of Tony Guyer, Lou Burgo and Chuck O’Neill had the best team score in the 26th Annual Hammonton Rotary Club Scholarship Golf Tournament Sunday, May 16 at Frog Rock Golf and Country Club.
Guyer, Burgo and O’Neill shot a combined 11 under par 59 in the best ball, scramble format event. The threesome teamed up for the lowest score in a field of mostly foursomes.
A 50/50 closest to the pin competition on the 13th hole was won by Brian Hefferon with a shot that landed 14 inches from the cup.
Four other closest to the pin holes were won as follows:
Fourth hole, Brian Campbell; sixth hole, John M. D’Agostino, Jr.; ninth hole, Skip Speckman; and 15th hole, Tony Guyer.
Tony Guyer also won the longest drive competition.
Proceeds from the event support the Hammonton Rotary Club Scholarship Fund, Little League team sponsorship, Bull Dogs basketball program, Hammonton Youth Soccer, the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) program, a yearly commitment to work for and provide food to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, and a 2010 donation to buy a K-9 dog for the Hammonton Police Department.
