Ben Mount, director of the Atlantic County Division of Public Health, addressed the Hammonton Rotary Club Jan. 24 about the county’s Medical Reserve Corps. Mount explained that the corps is a volunteer organization that springs into action and maintains readiness for public health emergencies. Although many of its 220 members are health professionals, you don’t have to be a medical professional to join, Mount said. Other community volunteers provide support services that let health professionals do their work.
