HAMMONTON – Winners of the 2014 Hammonton Rotary Club Foundation Scholarship were among the special guests on hand at the June 19 reorganization meeting of the Hammonton Rotary Club, held at Rocco’s Townhouse in Hammonton.
Scholarship winner Samantha Carty was recognized. The top 10 graduate of Hammonton High School and 2014 Student Council president will be attending Salisbury University in the fall majoring in exercise science, a pre-physical therapy program.
Scholarship winner Pamela Stratton was recognized. The Hammonton High School Class of 2014 president and top 10 graduate will be attending the business school at Rutgers New Brunswick in the fall; her major is undeclared.
Scholarship winner Amelia Porretta was also recognized. The director and charter member of the Interact Club at St. Joseph High School graduated third in her class. She is entering the accelerated physician’s assistant program at Drexel University in the fall.
The scholarship, worth $500 a year for four years, is awarded based on leadership, community service and academics.
Students interested in applying for the 2015 scholarship should look for applications in their high school guidance offices this fall, at hammontonrotary.org or on the Hammonton Rotary Club Facebook page.
