Members of the Hammonton Rotary Club were busy on Central Avenue the morning of Saturday, April 12 cleaning the roadside for the ACUA’s Clean Communites Program.
Through Clean Communities, any person or group can adopt a county road, school yard or park.
Participants clean sections of the adopted area, and the county provides all necessary equipment such as grabbers, safety shirts, bags and gloves.
Participants are also acknowledged with a road sign displaying their name.
Four times a year, Rotary cleans a section of Central Avenue near the former Kessler Hospital four times a year.
