More than 60 racers from all over South Jersey laced up their running shoes and gave it their all Saturday, Oct. 15 to compete in the Sweetwater 5K, a fundraiser for The Hammonton Rotary Club and the Healthy Kids Running Series.
Racers started and finished at the Sweetwater Marina and Riverdeck in Mullica Township. At stake was more than $2,000 in prizes. The top male and top female finishers were awarded $500 each.
Top three male finishers, ages, towns and times:
First, Jaouad El Jazouli, 38 of Paterson, 14:51;
second, Brian Quilty, 33 of Pitman, 14:57; third, Shawn McBride, 32 of Haddon Township, 15:04.
Top three female finishers, ages, towns and times:
First, Courtney Decker, 40 of Avon By the Sea, 17:25; second, Jennifer Pesce, 42 of Shamong, 18:03; third, Katie Johnson, 32 of Mays Landing, 18:24.
