Shooting enthusiasts from across South Jersey came together at the Pine Valley Gun Club in Berlin Saturday, Nov. 26 for the second annual Hammonton Rotary Fun Shoot.
All 75 tickets were sold as sports men and women enjoyed an afternoon of trap shooting and fellowship under a cloudless autumn sky.
The $60 tickets included 50 shotgun shells, a sponsor t-shirt, beverages and lunch. Proceeds support The Warren E. Sooy Elementary School Greenhouse.
Basil and begonia plants raised in the greenhouse are sold to raise money for the fifth grade, assuring that all fifth-grade student projects are paid for and no one is excluded for lack of funds. Rotary support will help pay for needed supplies.
The event also supports the Hammonton Rotary Scholarship Foundation, which awards at least one $2,000 scholarship each year based on service, leadership and academics to a Hammonton area graduating high school senior.
Franco Catania, event chairman, thanked participants, sponsors, and the Pine Valley Gun Club for making it a successful event.
Gold sponsors included Nolan’s Pour House Coffee Co., Eagle Embroidery, Screen Printing, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society, Whittaker Arms, Rainmaker Irrigation and Landscaping, Maple Leaf Physical Therapy, Barn Brothers LLC, SwimUSA Fiberglass Pools, Electri-Tech, and Ameriprise Financial – Eric Guggenheim.
Food was supplied by South Jersey BBQ Boyz.
Plans are already in the works for next year. The third annual Hammonton Rotary Fun Shoot is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023. To reserve your spot, call Catania at 609-364-1270.
