Rotary helps distribute Thanksgiving fixins

HAMMONTON – Members of the Hammonton Rotary Club were among the volunteers on hand at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry Saturday, Nov. 23 distributing turkeys and Thanksgiving food baskets to local families in need. The Hammonton Rotary Club donated 160 turkeys to support this year’s Thanksgiving food distribution.

For several years the Hammonton Rotary Club has supported the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, located in the basement of the St. Joseph Convent in Hammonton, with donations and by staffing the operation on the first Thursday of each month. Continue reading

You can expect service with a smile when the Hammonton Rotary Club hosts its annual holiday breakfast Sunday, Dec. 1 at Rocco’s Townhouse.

The Hammonton Rotary Club will hold its annual Holiday Breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at Rocco’s Townhouse, 21 N. 3rd Street in Hammonton. 

Guests will enjoy a delicious sit-down breakfast of eggs or pancakes with sausage or ham, and table service provided by members of the Hammonton Rotary Club.
Proceeds will help the Hammonton Fire Department purchase an infrared camera. 
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 10. Tickets are available at the door, from any Hammonton Rotary Club member as well as from local volunteer firefighters.

The Hammonton Rotary Club welcomed new members Karl Wicks and Nancy Valentino during an Aug. 29 swearing-in ceremony at Rocco’s Townhouse in Hammonton.

Wicks is a loan administration manager at Wells Fargo Bank in Chester, Pa. The father of three has been in mortgage banking for 23 years, is an avid runner and is in training for the Philadelphia Marathon in November. Continue reading

The Hammonton Rotary Club presented a check for $2,500 to the Disabled American Veterans Hammonton Chapter 66 during Rotary’s annual changeover dinner held June 20 at Rocco’s Townhouse. The money will go toward roof and other repairs at the DAV hall, located at 446 S. Egg Harbor Road.

The DAV is dedicated to helping veterans lead healthy and successful lives after leaving military service, especially those men and women that become wounded, injured or ill as a result of their service.

Money for the donation was raised during the Hammonton Rotary Club’s inaugural Hammonton Wine Festival, held May 4-5 at the Mt. Carmel Society carnival grounds.
