On Nov. 25, more than 80 trap shooting enthusiasts turned out on a crisp autumn afternoon for the 3rd Annual Hammonton Rotary Club Fun Shoot at the Pine Valley Gun Club in Berlin.

It was a day of camaraderie, competition and community support. Proceeds will go toward scholarships, local food pantries, veterans, youth sports, people in need, and the many other programs sponsored and supported by the Hammonton Rotary Club.

The shoot has grown steadily since its debut in 2021 with more shooters and more features each year. The shoot featured food from the South Jersey BBQ Boyz, and cigars from the Black Horse Mobile Cigar Lounge. Next year’s shoot has already been scheduled for Nov. 30, 2024.

Participants in the 50 trap challenge had exclusive access to the gun club and all of the available indoor amenities. For a $80 donation, each shooter received a T-shirt, 50 shotgun shells (choosing from 12 gauge or 20 gauge), lunch and a cigar.

Its success was made possible by main sponsor All Vinyl Fencing, plus many other sponsors who purchased spots on the T-shirts and signage. Also crucial was the support of volunteers, who managed scorekeeping, setup and cleanup.

The 50/50 raffle was one by Mike Thompson.

The Hammonton Rotary Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at Rocco’s Townhouse in Hammonton. We are always looking for new members. Message us on Facebook to learn more.
